ABOUT US
In accordance with its charter, the Needy Basket was founded in 1946 to provide food and other assistance to needy families in Tipp City, Monroe Township, and Bethel Township in Miami County, Ohio. It has been a mainstay of the community ever since. As the community grew so have the demands on the Needy Basket. Requests for food have increased from 522 in 2009 to 1,554 in 2020. The need exists in our community today in spite of a strong national economy.
Any resident in our service area (Tipp City, Monroe or Bethel Townships) may apply for Needy Basket help if he/she can show proof of residence in our service area and certify that their total household income is less than the poverty level for a household of their size (refer to the Ohio Job and Family Services take home form (JFS 04221) published in July of each year.
